Late again, sorry!
The girls were home sick for the entire week so I barely left the house- lame. Luckily I still got to enjoy Saturday strolling around Le Marais, which is my favorite neighborhood in the world in Paris.
So, readers, which picture do you like best?
Despite my extremely lofty travel expectations, I haven’t traveled nearly as much in Europe as I would have hoped- I’ve ventured off to only two destinations (Germany and Turkey) in four months! But my lack of travel is probably a good thing considering I’m saving up for so many future trips. And plus, with almost five more months in France, I’m sure I’ll be able to squeeze in a few short-distance train vacations before the end of my stay here. My current goals are Brittany, the French Alps and Northern Ireland… so stay tuned!

Hey, everyone! I hope you all have been doing great. I’ve been… well, I’ve had a tough week due to some problems with my job here. But it seems I have resolved everything so no more tears. And I’m sorry to be vague-blog but I really do think things are looking up!
So this week I barely took any photos- I think all of that Istanbul coverage (which you will see more of very soon!) wore me out photographically. Here are a few iPod-snapshots of what’s been going around in my adorable little town…
During the month of January you will see lots of crown-sporting cakes called galette des rois in the boulangerie windows in France.
And the reason behind all these blue-blooded cakes? Because for the epiphany, January 6, the French eat king cake to honor the kings who came bearing gifts for Jesus 12 days after his birth.
Ten minutes before I left for France in October, my mom insisted I buy a ticket home for Christmas- and I am ever so happy that I heeded her demand suggestion.
And as if I didn’t need any more incentive to come home to my wonderful family, Michigan really out-did itself this year with the snow.
Though Zoe and I had already visited Disneyland Studios, we had still missed the best part of Disneyland Paris – Disneyland Park.

Hello, lovelies! So as you may have noticed, I didn’t post a Saturday Snapshot last week because I was in ISTANBUL, a city that totally deserves all-caps. I have a strict no-computers-allowed rule-on-weekend-trips rule because if I can’t be away from my laptop for five days then I may truly have a problem. (Furiously scrolling through my Instagram feed on my iPod totally doesn’t count, right?)
