As y’all might have noticed, the Capture the Colour contest is making its way around the blogosphere again this year! So I knew I had to participate, as well as use this as an excuse to reminisce on my time in France. Sigh. Am I allowed to go back yet?
White
When I came across this beautiful bride and her beau being photographed on the Pont des Arts, I kneeled down and got a shot as well. Don’t you love her dress?
Blue
The darling little harbor of Saint-Martin-de-Ré was all shades of blue: the turquoise wooden boats, the baby blue shutters, the bright blue sky of a warm spring day.
Green
I snapped this very green shot on a misty spring day on the road next to the château de Vaux le Vicomte. I love French roads with the trees grown so symmetrically like this!
Yellow
I took this shot on a colorful back-street in Colmar, France. For some reason this scene strikes me as very European.
Red
And finally, a glass of red wine at a restaurant in Paris. Because… wine.

Very beautiful. France is such a magical place to photograph. I love those trees and the road, but really like all of them.
Thanks, Lance! It is a very photogenic place, isn’t it?
LOVE the blue shot! Also, of course… The wine :) Great job! x
Thanks so much! And it wouldn’t be a France post without a wine pic in it :)
Love these photos Ashley! And I love that our amazing Alsace trip made in there as well :)
We had such a great time! (And came back with such great photos :))
Lovely, lovely entry! The picture of that beautiful bride drew me in for sure. She looks gorgeous, and you captured her very well. The rest of the photos are lovely as well, that one just struck a chord. :)
I really liked that one too. Isn’t her dress amazing?
As I scrolled down, I thought – I love that one! no, that one! All great, but I really wish every street in the world looked like the green!
So do I! Ah, I miss France already :)
Wow, I like the yellow building. =)
Thanks, Nicole! That was one of my favorites too :)
What a nice post. And what a great idea to theme it around France!
It was a lot of fun going through my pictures and finding my favorite pictures of my favorite country!
Yay! Glad you got an entry put together :) I love your Green picture of the tree-lined avenue. I strolled down such a street in Chinon in December, but, alas, it was December.
The picture of the wine…mmmm ^_^
Thanks so much, Trevor! And I guess you’ll just have to come back to France then :)
Thanks love! Miss your face. And France. And seeing your face in France.
Aw I miss you too, lots. I wish we could have just one more wine and cheese chat on your balcony :(
Awesome! I love the wine one :)
Thanks! I’m always a fan of wine in whatever context as well, ha :)
The wedding shot is so beautiful–the dress so gorgeous! I liked the
colorful harbor too. It’s nice to become part of your life with your photos!
Love, Gamma
Thanks, Gamma! I’ll call home soon, miss you so much! Love, Ashley
Great photos! I love the French theme and in particular, the ‘red’ photo that highlights one of my favourite things about France.
Thanks, Kellie! And yes, wine is clearly the best thing about France, though there are many :)
Yellow pic has depth. However all pics are great and beautifully captured.
Thanks so much, Zahid!
I love your blue because you manage to draw on so many different kinds of blues in many different ways. Oher!
Thanks! That was such a beautiful town and such a beautiful day :)
