Hey everyone, happy Saturday! This Saturday Snapshot is actually on time, can you believe it?
So this week I endured a travel blogger’s most-feared nightmare; my computer crashed and the hard drive has been wiped clean. So my upcoming editorial calendar has been ravaged because I lost all the photos I had taken for them. While I had backed up a lot of my photos, almost all the pictures I’ve taken in France so far are gone, as well as almost all of my documents.
My next plan is to buy a MacBook Pro because I have had it with PC nonsense, considering my last computer (an HP) was an absolute terror. I had to replace its battery three times, there was no internal clock so I was constantly googling, “Time in Detroit”, it was super slow and it had to be plugged in at all times or it would abruptly shut down. I can’t wait to have my first Mac and be worry-free from computer problems, hallelujah!
So anyway, I am writing this from my cozy house in Michigan, looking out the window to see a blanket of snow covering the family minivan and cherry tree in the yard. Isn’t that wholesome?
Without further ado, this is what I did this week. I couldn’t choose a favorite shot so please vote in the comments!

Disneyland! While normally I am fervently against all that is fake (i.e. Wonderbread, Las Vegas, etc.) I really have a special place in my heart for Disneyland due to several cherished Orlando-trips as a child.

The sun emerged from Paris’ ever-present overcast sky long enough for me to snap this picture of the castle. Who wants to move in with me?
Photo C
On my last full day in Paris (at least for a while), I revisited my absolute favorite bakery in the city, Du Pain et Des Idées. I sat outside on that bench for a while and every French person who walked by chattered about how famous and delicious the bread is there, which is called Pain des Amies, or Bread of Friends.

And this really wouldn’t be my blog if there wasn’t a bit of food porn, right? This is a chausson aux pommes, basically an apple turnover with a flaky, buttery crust.
So how were your week? Are you as excited for Christmas as I am?

I heart you, but you know there’s these things called watches to tell time, right? :)
Have fun in Michigan! We must go to Du Pain et Des Idées when you’re back in Paris.
And here I thought you would just be happy that I’m coming over to join you on the dark side!
But we will definitely go to Du Pain et Des Idees, you’re going to adore it. And have the best time in Singapore love! Will you bring me dim sum from Hong Kong? :P
You really are a food pornographer (is that a word?) :)
I love the second one – still want to move in there!
Have a great time at home!
Haha it is now! And I heard the Disney Castle was modeled after the Neuschwanstein Castle, is that true?
And thanks, you too! Have lots of German Christmas cookies for me :)
It’s all about the chausson aux pommes! Love it and can almost taste it!
Ah it was so good! I wish I could’ve brought some home for my family, who wouldn’t love one?
I am definitely not against things that are fake… sometimes I love how fake things can transport me away from reality (just as real things like castles and stuff do)… I have a very vivid imagination and anything that feeds it is fine by me!
I don’t want to vote for any of these pictures because they all look great but I want to eat whatever is in photo D!!!
Hope all your computer woes are well sorted by now.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you as well, Colleen! They are quite sorted due to my beautiful new Macbook… my first Mac ever!

It’s a toss up between C & D for me….it’s really too tough to choose.
Food porn is correct! Every post I read I’m hungry after.
Haha, I’m glad to hear that! Even being in the U.S. for only two weeks I’m hungry looking at food pics from Paris, haha.
