My perfect day in Paris doesn’t involve the Eiffel Tower. It doesn’t involve croissants. And it definitely doesn’t involve gruyère cheese.
What does it involve? Wandering. Taking pictures. Stopping for steak frites. Enjoying the rare and beautiful blue skies. People-watching. And discovering beautiful little details all over the city.

Which picture is your favorite?

My favorite is the second to last. Because a happy person is always a good thing to see.
I unfortunately did not have the best experience my first trip to Paris (lots of cranky tourist area workers, knife pulled on me). I’m going back in a couple months and your version looks like more of what I’m looking for. I’m going to spend as little time as possible in the tourist areas and just try to enjoy walking the streets being a Parisian for a short time. I always enjoy your blog. I think it’s what most serious travelers want to see of Paris.
I’m so sorry to hear that, that’s awful! Definitely check out some of the little neighborhoods like Republique, Le Marais and the Abbesses area of Montmartre.
You know – I have to say the steak frites because I could eat that right now! I also love the roses – spring optimism! I’d love to spend another day in Paris, just wandering about.
Steak frites are always amazing! And yes, hopefully spring will be upon us shortly :)
How to choose? They are all great. The roses do make me happy though. Wish
I were there to wander the streets with you!
Love,

Aw, I wish you were here too. But we will do lots of strolling together up at the Point this summer, and what’s more beautiful than Lake Huron at sunset? Love, Ashley
Nice photos! The food especially looks AMAZING.
I like the one on the top row, right the best. I like the bicycles in it. I’ve never been to Paris, so I’ve really enjoyed reading about it on your site!
I so agree with you! I studied French in Paris two summers a couple of years ago and just wandering around Paris was my favorite thing to do as well. My favorite picture is the one of the Place des Vosges – the Marais is probably one of my favorite quartiers in Paris! :)

The bread looks pretty amazing :)
But I’d probably vote for the one with the petals. Love the colours.
Agreed – just walking around Paris on a sunny day is pretty much the dream!
I think I loved the pictures with the buildings and the breads the most! Paris looks so wonderfully beautiful! The skies are so clear!
every picture makes me want to be there
It does sound like a perfect day, I love Paris & France in general! My husband & I got engaged in France 3 years ago, so is a special place for us. I like the queue outside the falafel store photo….makes me want to be in it!

I agree with you! It is fun to wander in any city and take pictures and watch people and look down little side streets. Love the pictures.
Thanks, Trudi. It’s always a fun stroll down memory lane reading these posts from my Paris days!
What’s your favourite place in Paris? Mine is probably Montmartre. I love that area and the view too. :-)
I love Republique, Le Marais and Montmartre. Definitely a left bank girl :)
